Let's talk truth in advertising for a second …We see a lot of places advertising "walleye" on their Friday Fish Fry, but after talking with our seafood supplier, what a lot of places are serving is actually European pike, aka Zander. It's in the same family tree, but it's not the same thing, so if you're getting "walleye" for $12, you're probably not eating actual walleye. For what it's worth, we buy the best quality American/Canadian walleye we can find, and right now we're serving it blackened over cajun cream sauce with peppers, onions, andouille and rice. We hope to have you stop in this week and warm up with a hot drink, a cup of our amazing homemade soups, and some of the drinks and items from our Homegrown Honey Dinner too! Tonight's food & drink specials all are made with honey from our own hives! Our bartender Jerrica has been keeping bees for a few years and she led the project of expanding the apiary and now we have some freshly harvested (exceedingly local) honey to use in our food and drink features. Baked feta with garlic honey, brined & grilled pork chop with honey chipotle glaze, and a spiced holiday honey cake with bourbon apple butter. Order by the each or go for all three to make a delicious honey themed dinner. This is your every other week reminder to clean your draught lines. Why bother buying world-class beer only to pour it from dirty lines and faucets? It's not cheap to clean our 30 lines every other Monday (and toss a bunch of beer in the process) but when that perfect pint is poured, we think it's well worth it.
